As a reminder, the High School will remain virtual until Jan 15th based on the current recommendations from the Kent County Health Department. Students and teachers will continue with the “6 period day,” each class being about 57 minutes. Students will attend every class on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be set aside for staff meetings, individual work with students, and office hours. 1 st semester will now end on January 15th to align with our new schedule.
Dec 16th Half day Schedule
Wednesday, the 16th, will be for office hours only. Office hour times are noted below. This is time set aside for student initiated virtual visits using and for teachers to respond to student and parent emails or phone calls. Students are encouraged to schedule virtual visits and use this time to complete makeup or retake assessments during this time.
Reminder that students must be logging on to class within the first 10 minutes of the hour or they will be marked absent. If your student is sick or unable to attend class virtually on Mon, Tues, Thurs, or Fri, please contact the attendance line at 784-2400, Ext 2 or you may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must come from a parent’s verified email address.
Mental Health Concerns
We know in this time that many students struggle with mental health. We are constantly assessing ways to support and encourage students in both academics and mental health. We are starting a referral form, similar to last spring, for staff to report students of whom they have concerns about their mental health. Mel Trotter Donations
The Kenowa Hills High School Student Council needs your help supporting Mel Trotter. Mel Trotter is an organization that helps those in need. When someone donates, they are helping another person more than they may realize. You may donate gently used or brand new items. Everyone needs an extra hand from time to time so please consider how you might help so others are protected from the cold and elements. That old winter jacket that doesn't fit? If you borrowed a classroom library book, please keep it in a safe place and return to the Main Office when complete.

Students need to pick up their Book Club novels. There is a signup sheet to sign out the books when you pick them up.
Media Center Materials:
Drop off Media Center material to the school office. There is a cart in the Main Office for you to set your things on. Please return your books from either the media center or classrooms, and your cameras (once you are done with your class). Please give cameras (and any non-book materials you may have) to one of the office personnel and they will make sure it gets to Mrs. Troeger.
