Central Elementary News January 8

01/08/21

Starting on Monday, January 11, we will be back to “normal.” All face-to-face students are welcome back every day all day (8:30-3:02). We will be socially distanced as much as possible, and we will still be wearing masks at all times. One downside to this is that we may have to quarantine some students/staff members if someone develops COVID and is here at school. We will do our best to keep everyone safe. Please return any technology (Chromebooks, Hot Spots, and iPads) on Monday. We will redistribute if needed.

I am extremely thankful to have such supportive families. May we continue that through 2021 and beyond, whatever comes our way. Please, if there is anything I can do to make your experience better at Central, please do not hesitate to let me know. My cell is 616-401-7829. Texts, calls, and emails are all welcomed.

Happy New Year!
Cherie Horner, Principal

Winter Clothes

We are not allowed to loan clothing from the Lost-and-Found this year. Please make sure you send snowgear daily as we go outside daily. Also, parents are not allowed to drop items off anymore (we can’t ‘deliver’ them), so it’s very important to have everything you need for the day when you leave the home. We can accept donations of new winter items after “isolating” them for 3 days.

Take Home Meals

In order to keep our meal service equitable for all students we will continue to do a take home meal kit for all daily instruction students on Fridays. The kits will contain 1 breakfast/1 lunch, giving in-person students access to a total of 6 breakfasts/6 lunches in total for the week, the same number included in our weekly meal kits for KHOLA students. We will start the 1-day meal kits next Friday, January 15th and they will continue through the end of the school year (as long as we are in daily instruction). If you do not want it, all your child has to do is say, “No thank you.”

Devices/Log Into Canvas:

On Monday, please bring back Hotspots and devices now that we are returning to school face-to-face. Canvas is always available to you and a great resource even if you are not quarantined! **If you are accessing Canvas from a computer not provided by Kenowa Hills Public Schools, you MUST log out of all other Google accounts on the device before logging in with the student's Google account. EDUCATION
REDEFINED

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
