With our move to a hybrid learning environment, your child will be transporting their iPad or Chromebook between school and home. In that situation, you and your child are responsible for taking care of the device and making sure it is in proper working order. Any cost to repair a damaged device is your responsibility. KHPS does offer a $20/school year optional insurance that you can purchase to help cover instances of accidental damage. Insurance does not cover misuse or abuse. You can learn more about this opportunity and how to enroll by viewing this Technology Insurance document at khps.org/tech-support. You or your child should report any device issues to their classroom teacher to begin the repair / replacement process.
Canvas is always available to you and a great resource even if you are not quarantined! **If you are accessing Canvas from a computer not provided by Kenowa Hills Public Schools, you MUST log out of all other Google accounts on the device before logging in with the student's Google account. As we move into our hybrid learning model, I wanted to provide an update for what meal service will look like from November 30th - January 15th. Rest assured, we will continue to feed your students each day, whether they are in school or learning from home. And don’t forget...meals continue to be free for all students through June 2021!
Face to Face Students
The 2 days per week your student is in school, they will receive breakfast and lunch as usual. In addition, each day they are in school, they can take home a meal kit containing 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches for their next 2 days at home. These meals are FREE to all students.
As a reminder, we are still collecting Meal Benefit Applications for the 2020-21 School Year. Although meals are currently free to all students, these applications are still very important as they also qualify our district for funding in other programs as well as additional educational supports for your child. If you have not done so already, please fill out the application for your students at: https://lunchapp.com/ Regardless of whether your application is approved/denied it will NOT affect your ability to receive free meals for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. Meals are free regardless of whether or not you complete an application and whether or not you are approved. Even better, if your students are approved for meal benefits this year, they will roll over to the first 30 days of school in the 2021-22 school year! As we continue to adapt our learning models, please know that Nutrition Services will be here to provide meals to our students and community members. We are passionate about school food service, even when we don’t see your students every day. We are here and available so please feel free to contact me at any time.
Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.PERSONAL MASTERY SPECIAL EDUCATION ENGLISH LEARNERS TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM
